#260 - Today's shots brings us back to the city of pines, Baguio city, long before the dreaded pandemic hits the country.
We have here a man whose livelihood depends in offering transient houses for travellers and tourists alike. Those who cannot afford the hefty price of hotels within the city, like me, prefer to go to these kind of alternative. You can even make a bargain with the price if you are not satisfied with the first offer. But since the price has a big difference from the hotels why bother asking for another discount when you can help the man to have additional money to bring to his family's table. So yeah I do not bargain with them anymore one the price is mentioned. Transient houses in this city are definitely clean and better than any cheap hostels in Manila.
In this city, transient owners want to provide the best service because in return the happy customer will tell the others about their experience hence the transient will get more exposure and possibly more customers.
The man sits on metal barrier or barricade and he is wearing in style a jacket and a shade similar to Ray-ban while he holds a small piece of laminated paper with the details of his transient that he offers.
Here we have a scene in the street where there were parked vehicles and then a group of women trying to cross to the left side of the street. They seem to be in a rush because a jeepney is approaching from behind.
I also noticed the chair, a monoblock to be exact, just on the side of the approaching jeepney. Kinda like it included in this frame. Then there is this man in the lower part also trying to cross but going to the opposite side of the women's direction. He looks kinda in a hurry too.😁
Why does a lot of people walking the streets alway look in to their phones. That is what we have here with these two lovely ladies walking to the right and towards me. They may be engaged with something important when this shot was taken but who knows. This is just my observations though which most of us may have encountered already.
Btw, this is inside a park called Burnham Park so there is no problem looking at their phones, far away from the busy streets where there are cars that could be potentially dangerous.
This city is mostly peaceful through out the day crime is minimal like those about theft, pickpockets and less intrusive ones. There are also fist fight that happens in night time once the clubs are open and party goers are drunk and there are altercations. That is why police are also roaming around most of the time in pairs in the city streets.
They can be also a source of information for people who wants to know a place or something like that. That is what we see here, two cops walking on patrol in the oark just making there is peace and order all day.😊
Follow me on my street travels.
