Zen and the art of stress management!

Zen. Zen Buddhism.

Zen is a curious thing. We don't believe anything completely!
But it's great for dealing with stress...trauma...and depression...anything really.

The secret to Zen is very, very simple. It is so simple that people miss it.
It's "in your face", and so close it is not seen, skipped, missed.
Here is the secret.
Ready?
"What's looking?"

If we can see the turmoil of emotions in stress and the swirl of thoughts then - what's looking?

But the essence here is not to think of an answer - just look for what's looking!
...like looking out of a window - we don't think about what we might see - we just look!

This way we observe stressful stuff and notice that if it can be observed then we are not the stress but just an observer....the witness.

And....and...The Witness isn't stressed is it?
It just witnesses.
It is not traumatised either !
Or depressed !

That's it really!

Be the witness. From there stress doesn't necessarily vanish (it might) but it becomes...lighter...more "over there"...more "not me".

...if you don't accept thoughts as an answer and just look - what are you?
