One of the main enemies of the young eagle is the serpent, especially in the tropics where snakes commonly inhabit the upper foliage if the rain forest where the eagle's nest is located.
Here again the eagle is unafraid of the adversary. Despite the fact that it has no immunity against the venom, it will present it breast as a target for the snake. Once the snake has struck and missed, the eagle with lightning speed, seize the writhing serpent in its razor sharp talons. Sometimes the eagle will faint allowing the snake to repeatedly strike. Once the vulnerable head is offguard, the bird pounces.
