That's what I thought too almost a year ago when I signed up. I'm still broke LOL. I've only made around $120 worth of Steem in an entire year. It sucks, but if you don't know how to blog you are less likely to make money. I'm too radical and mouthy as a result I don't have much of a following.

i like loud-mouthed folks...maybe we are twins...lmao

Hang in there. Never, ever let yourself compare what you are making with what anyone else is making, it will make you nuts. The "big names" can post a picture of their latest turd and make a hundred bucks. Most of us try to put up a quality post and we make a few peanuts. John the Baptist could post "Revelation" on here and if he did not have a whale promote it, no one would see it. It is just the reality. If you get involved in the groups on discord you will grow faster. I cannot do discord, it is a big butt kissing contest and I prefer my 3 comments from people who actually took an interest in me and my life to fawning over people hoping they will come read my post, maybe even put me on their auto voter!
Here is the trick to staying sane on here, IMO...
Ask yourself this, often:
How much did you make on your last facebook post?
Have a good day!

i don't do FB...so, there's that...and i probably won't ever make money on YT or here...hell, i don't make much at the daily grind either

I started on steemit to start getting a little cryptocurrency. I do not want to spend that fiat that I work so hard to make so little... so even the few cents I make per post, it is manna. Gifts from God... and way more likely to pay off some day than buying lottery tickets. However, it gets frustrating at times. I loved the idea this was a meritocracy, and it is not. Not even close. So it goes!
