My kids are here for the weekend and we watched Gone With Wind last night on TV. The grandkids had never seen it. My 14yr old grandson watched for an hour or so, but then went back to his computer. My son watched until the intermission, but thought that 2 hours was plenty and had no desire to watch the last two hours.

My daughter-in-law had watched it many many times before, but always in Russian. This was her first time watching it in English and hearing the actual voices of the actors. It was her idea to watch it and she was delighted hearing the southern accents.

My 13yr granddaughter watched to the end, all 4 hours and liked it.

We were all up early to watch the F1 race together.

It's been a great real life weekend! I'll be able to be back on Steem tomorrow, but in the meantime here are a few flower photos to brighten up my shadowy blog.

Beautiful garden!! Amazing colours!
Oh! Yes, I watched that film three times so far.
The first time it was dubbed in Thai which was very confusing. Years later, I saw it on satellite tv. Then I bought a dvd and watched it again a few years later! A real classic film,very good acting!

Everyone has gone home. The grandkids go back to school tomorrow after having the summer off. They were sad that summer is ending.

My daughter in law said it is a tradition in Russia to watch Gone With the Wind on International Womens Day. My best friend and I used to get together and watch it every New Years Eve, but I had not seen it for several years so it was good to see it again.

Thanks! She grew up in Nalchik in the Caucasus Mountains and her family still lives there, but she moved to Sochi as an adult. She loves living in Chicago.

Aren’t those blue flowers with the long stems splendid, what a beautiful display. I watched gone with the wind a long long time ago - in fact you could say the memory of it has gone.....with the wind
