Sundays can be many things to many people whether it is procrastination cleanup, bonus vacation day, special projects or straight up sloth time. So here is my #SublimeSunday (inspired by @c0ff33a) and #BeautifulSunday (initiated by @ace108) post to share how my week ended.
This week, I have been asking for winter, and I was answered.
Dogwars?
Fuzzy monsters appear during snow storms. Icicle tears, whiskers and slobber from sprinting through the whiteout . Relentlessly seeking fun in the snow.
Snowmageddon
Enough snow and wind to close down a few businesses won't keep us from enjoying some outdoor glee and relaxation. The parking lot was a mess of drifts and sandy tire tracks so I had to claw through it spinning all 4 wheels to get to the gate. Apparently, the temperature was -11 Celsius and -21 with the wind chill while we were here. Proper coat hat scarf gloves and you are cozy warm in the gazebo out of the wind.
This guy could care less about the temperature. Hottest day of the year or -11 and sir runsalot will still belly flop into the creek. How could you not take this one to the park on Sunday?
Downtown
It is also the end of our local lights festival thing. Tourism grants are used to sponsor interactive art displays, music shows and other special events for the community to enjoy. I have a couple things to do while downtown.
Next up was a 10-year party for our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym Stratford BJJ Fantastic group of people in a really cool venue I may feature sometime this week. I have seen a couple of iterations of this restaurant and this one seems to have it going on. Getting back to training jiu jitsu was one new years resolution. Writing stories to feature and help small local businesses like this one with @town-crier was another so I should get at that this week too.
The days are getting slightly longer but the sun still sets early. Makes a trip to The Dandelion in town square even better under dark skies. This was not my destination though, only the path to it.
Silent Disco!
What better way to end the night than attending a free dance party? How about one where your buddies are the DJs facing off against each other playing different music that you can switch on the headset? You can see the people near the front of the room are grooving to the blue house DJ who is on the left. The ones closer to me are chewing on some juicy Drum N Bass DJ in the red hat with his MC right beside him. The only sounds in the room are shuffling feet, light conversation and laughter but the tunes are huge in the headsets so this kinda party can happen anywhere. Good on the more music resolution too it seems!
