In 1992, Musk shifted to the University of Pennsylvania. After earning a bachelor’s degree in economics, he tried a second undergraduate degree in physics. The desire for education was inherent in Musk, something that not often seen in people.

He was not satisfied with two undergraduate degrees. He moved to California to seek a PhD in energy physics at Stanford University. However, he stopped after only 2 days at the program to become a part of the Internet boom. His first company, Zip2 Corporation, was an online city guide that provided information for the New York Times and the Chicago Tribune. He grew as a multimillionaire in his late 20 years by selling Zip2 to Compaq Computers for US$ 307 million cash and US$ 34 million as stock options. He moved on to co-establish an online payments company called X.com, which later became as PayPal. He owned 11% of the company’s stock. In 2002, eBay acquired PayPal for US$ 1.5 billion in stock. He always said that

“Great companies built on great products”- Elon Reeve Musk

Next on his program came a commercial space travel company called SpaceX. NASA gave the company a US$ 1.6 billion agreement to supply the International Space Station. In 2015, SpaceX was able to raise US$ 1 billion by roping in new investors like Fidelity and Google. It made the value of the company a little over US$ 10 billion.

Performances and achievements:

He had more on his plate like Tesla Motors, a luxury electric car maker, which he co-founded in 2003, advanced US$ 226 million by beginning its initial public offering in 2010. He founded the Musk Foundation that supports space research and the discovery of renewable energy origins. He is also the partner of Solar City, a solar panel designer and installer. The slew of creativity shows no sign of stopping. His new idea of transport, known as “The HyperLoop” published in 2013. According to this theory, travel between the main cities would occur at speeds above 700 miles per hour. He concludes that the HyperLoop will take 7-10 years to be developed and ready for use. Naturally, his grand project has met with scepticism. But, Musk being Musk, we will only have to wait and watch.

In adolescence, Musk read a lot of philosophical and religious literature. However, the greatest influence on him had the book "the Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy". According to the entrepreneur, he realized that you need to ask the right questions. When Musk went to College, he thought about exactly how he wanted to influence the fate of mankind. There he decided that he would be engaged in the resettlement of people from Earth to other planets. The businessman decided that he would do everything possible to contribute to this industry. And he started looking for money.
