In order for us to become successful, we must learn from those that have succeeded before us.
The fact is: Leaders are Readers
As sad as it may sound, the average person reads 2-3 books a year. On contrary, the average CEO reads 4-6 books, a month.
So why is reading important? Because of the mere fact you can absorb in a person’s wealth of knowledge accumulated over decades of trial and error, in a matter of days, just by reading.
So what is the key to reading a book a week?
Let’s look at the numbers.
On average, there are 64,000 words in a book.
The average person reads 200 words per minute.
If you divide these two numbers, you get 320 minutes needed to read a book.
If you divide that by 7 days in a week, you need 45 minutes each day to complete one book.
Only 45 minutes a day!!
But…and there is a big BUT, you MUST schedule in that time, time that you are awake that is!
Most people use reading as a way to fall asleep at night and you will not get the best bang for your buck when you are tired and can’t retain or remember as much information as if you were awake.
So schedule in your 45 minutes each day for reading like you would if you were scheduling in a call with a boss or spending time with family or whatever.
Yes, it’s THAT important.
How many books have you read this year? What is your favorite book?
Thanks for the reminder! Got to read more!
No problem! You can do without a meal for a day, but you cannot do without reading!
Only completed 2 so far but that's good for me. But 4 would be better haha My favourite right now is anything from gary V! He's awesome!
Gary V is great! Keep reading!
You know it!
