Bangladesh is a land of natural beauty. Beautiful places are scattered all over the country. Beauty of the natural places is unique and it cannot be matched with other beautiful places located in other countries. Bangladesh's tourist attractions include historical and monuments, resorts, beaches, picnic spots, forests and tribal people, wildlife of various species. Activities for tourists include angling, water skiing, river cruising, hiking, rowing, yachting, and sea bathing.
Sundarbans:
The name “Beauty and the Beast” perfectly goes with the Sundarbans. Both natural beauty and monstrous beasts are found in this largest mangrove forest. The thing that attracts the tourists here is that it is the only home of Royal Bengal Tiger in the world. That is why, it has become one of the best tourist destinations among travelers living in different parts of the world. Apart from the majestic tiger, visitors can also see spotted deer, endangered species of dolphin, such as Irrawaddy and Gangetic dolphins, crocodile, turtle, monkey, different colorful birds etc.
Cox’s Bazar
Cox's Bazar sea beach is the longest sea beach in the world, 120 km long, having no 2nd instance. The wavy water of Bay of Bengal touches the beach throughout this 120 km.
For Bangladeshi's it doesn't get much better than Cox's Bazar, the country's most popular beach town than the other one 'Kuakata beach town. It's sort of a Cancun of the east. It's choc-a-bloc with massive well-architectured concrete structures, affluent 5 & 3 star hotels, catering largely to the country's elite and overseas tourists. The beach is only a bit crowded in tourist season, October to March, especially near the hotel-motel zone, but remains virgin during the rest of the year, April to September, when it's better to take a trip there.
Kuakata:
Kuakata is a rare scenic beauty spot on the southernmost tip of Bangladesh. From the beach, one can have an unobstructed view of both sunrise and sunset over the Bay of Bengal. Kuakata is also a sanctuary for migratory winter birds. On the eastern end of the beach is Gongamati Reserved Forest, an evergreen mangrove forest and snippet of the original Kuakata. You will see thousands of small lobsters running all over the beach if you go at very early morning.
At Kuakata excellent combination of the picturesque natural beauty, sandy beach, blue sky, huge expanse of water of the Bay and evergreen forest are extremely eye-catching. It is one of the rarest places which have the unique beauty of offering the full view of the rising and setting of crimson sun in the water of the Bay of Bengal in a calm environment. That perhaps makes Kuakata one of the world’s most unique beaches.
Saint Martins:
Saint Martins Island is in the Chittagong Division of Bangladesh and lies about 10 km south-west of the southern tip of the mainland. Saint Martins is a tropical cliché and the only coral island in the country, with beaches fringed with coconut palms and laid-back locals. Most things are concentrated around the far north of the island, with the center and south being mostly farmland and makeshift huts. November to February is the main tourist season with the best weather, though keep an eye on the forecast, as the occasional cyclone can strike during this time.
Sreemangal:
Sreemangal is known as the tea center of Bangladesh. This hilly area, which is about 75 kilometers south of Sylhet, has approximately 47 tea gardens. Tea produced here is exported all over the world. Here, you will find seven layers of tea, each layer has different taste. Because of the large number of tea estates, it has got popularity among travelers as the city of “two leaves and a bud”. Sreemangal is surrounded by green hills of different sizes. Wherever you look, you will only see green. It may seem to you that tea estates are covered with green carpet on the sloping hills.
Sreemangal is blessed with natural beauty. Except for tea gardens, other major attractions of this small town are Lawachara National Park (tropical rain forest), Madhobpur Lake, Monipuri and Khashia tribal villages and Baikka Beel. There is a 5-star category hotel named Grand Sultan Tea Resort & Golf.
