We are continuing from 1Cor 13:4

Love never gives up.

If someone you truly love is in some sort of fix or the other, you do not give up on them. They could be a wayward child, ungrateful friend or unrepentant spouse. Whatever it is, you stand by them because you love them.

Love cares more for others than for self.

One way to be sure you really do love a person is your selfless act. You do not think about what you stand to gain as a result of whatever you do for them. Their joy equals yours. Their needs come in first and you are always willing to do anything as long as it profits those you love. This does not mean you would harm yourself in order to please them. It just means your actions are not backed by selfish gains.

Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.

This right here has to do covetousness. You see ladies claiming to be in love with another woman’s husband. Men being envious of other people’s wealth and property. If you cannot work hard to get yours, do not go envying others. Love does not go with envy. When you love someone, you do not envy their progress, their financial accomplishment or whatever it is that they have that you do not. You are genuinely happy for them.

Love doesn’t strut, and doesn’t have a swelled head.

True love is not accompanied with pride. True love is humble and does not go expecting some sort of glorified response whenever they display affection.

Love doesn’t force itself on others and isn’t always “me first,”

This is pretty much self-explanatory. Just because you think you are in love with someone does not necessarily mean they must love you back. It does not mean you have to impose yourself and your presence on the people you love even when it is obvious they do not want you around.

Doesn’t fly off the handle, and doesn’t keep score of the sins of others.

When you love someone, you act reasonably, you do not just go off at every single mistake. True love does not find it hard to forgive. Forgiveness comes easily. In love, there is no remembering of past sins and offences. Love lets go and truly forget offences. Grudges are not present in the face of true love. Revenge is indeed out of the question.

Doesn’t revel when others grovel

I have come across people who seem to be happy when their lover is painfully paying for offending them. They just glory in their lover’s pain. Trust me, or the Bible as that is our reference now, that is not Love.

Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth and puts up with anything,

When the Love is real, it does not go with lies and deceit. It does not say he or she is somewhere and they are not really there. When it comes to true love, honesty is always paramount.

Love Trusts God always, always looks for the best, never looks back, but keeps going to the end.

In conclusion, Love never dies. And when all’s been said and done, Love still remains…

Inspired speech will be over some day; praying in tongues will end; understanding will reach its limit. We know only a portion of the truth, and what we say about God is always incomplete. But when the Complete arrives, our incompletes will be canceled.

We live in a world where no one knows what would happen next but in spite of this, the only thing that should keep us going is Love.

Love is the only survivor in the end. Show and practice Love the right way today...

Thanks sister sister for this wonderful knowlegde revealed on LOVE and on the word of God.
Indeed as you said love cares for others than itself, true is seen by the act of sacrifice. Jesus showed us his love by dieing for us (excess love he displayed to us on the cross of calvary and his still doing).

God also asked us to love others the way we love our selves, infact he concluded by saying when we love one another we fullfill the whole law.

Love is want the world needs now, love is want is lacking in our generation.
Love is the key to problems we face on earth.

So true, thanks for stopping by dear

I believe is the greatest virtue on earth. You can always hate and hate to you hate all your life out but no matter how love you can love or show love, there will still more love that you could have shown.

I hope you get my point. Nice write up by the way 😀

Lol... Yeah, I got your point.... Love is indeed great

Thanks, now following you tho 🙌

Beautiful piece really
