Joy is the serious business of heaven. - C.S. Lewis
One of the things I like doing most in winter is meeting some friends, walking over the Sunday's flea market with them, buying some rummage and enjoying a delicious hot 'Barraquito' in one of the local hippie bars.
If joy was the business of heaven, then pleasure would be the business of planet Earth.
Here's how a typical wintery Sunday looks like on my island.
@surfermarly and friends enjoying some typical Canarian coffee called 'Barraquito'
#sundaymode
Even on islands that are known for their endless summer, the wintery Sunday relax mode does exist.
The blue sky is quite trappy these days. 20 degrees Celsius appear much colder when the air is humid and winds are blowing strongly from the North.
You better get your winter jackes and scarfs prepared for that season.
Some cold gusts of wind blow through the small alleys of the old capital. The black and white arquitecture of the buildings forms a nice contrast to the dark blue sky and the colourful market stands.
Sunday's flea market: A labyrinth where everyone wants to get lost
House facades are turned into shop-windows
Courtyards are converted into beautiful shops
Typical Canarian arquitecture
For those who are too lazy to walk...
If you ever got lost in this labyrinth, the town's landmark (church) would guide you back to the centre
Shirt with a message:
1 glass of rum
1gr of coke
f******* crazy life
That's the way we like to sunday! And you?
Marly -
Thanks for your valuable time!

Well Life is really beautiful but it is the duty of humans to make it more attractive through happiness and joy. The above quote describe it all completely.
Sunday is known as Funday in my family and we entirely change our routine on Sundays. Your routine resembles a lot with mine but I also play Cricket on Sundays with my friends.
There is a very famous quote of Quran
So, i am much impressed by this amazing peace promoting Photography. These photos are not just pictures but you have captured beautiful nature in it.
Keep Sharing such breath Taking Photographs @surfermarly
Stay Blessed!
Nice comment, thanks for your time and insight! :-)
Changing the routine on the weekends is also essential to me. What I like most is not planning anything and then just look what happens and where life's directing me to. Sometimes not controlling anything provides you with the biggest freedom of all.
Loved this quote btw!
Again I enjoyed the read, thanks for stopping by.
I am much obliged for your kind words and the appreciation you showed. It is also human nature sometimes we they Human Beings want no sanction and Control by others. And yes i do agree it gives immense happiness.
Thanks for loving the quote, My prayers are always with you @surfermarly :)
What a nice peek into your corner of the world! You can really feel the wind blowing through the alleyways. Barraquito looks delicious! I love how it's served/presented. Thanks for sharing and aloha!
Barraquito brings you the warm feelings back to your body after walking through these icecold allays :-)
I'm glad you enjoyed the little Sunday trip.
Enjoy your weekend, too... and aloha!
I love the photo of the courtyards, looks like it'd be a great setting to paint.
I also want to comment on your logo, I really like it a lot!
Perhaps you will take the time to follow back and check out my artwork :)
I had been a couple of times at that market but for the first time ever I found that shop built in a courtyard. Both the scenery and the type of clothes amazed be.
The logo was designed by @sjennon - she won a design contest here on steemit :-) I love it very much, too!
Nice blog of yours btw - I'm following you now.
I am definitely a fan of the architecture, that's what caught my eye. Although I am also fascinated by the clothing.
I actually already follow @sjennon, how coincidental.
Also thank you for following me. We can now continue to grow together.
Sunday is special day for share with people do you usually do not see during week, specially if you share their company with your barraquito coffee, sounds amazing, sorry i prefer the expresso coffee until the most hight of your tongue, and soul.
Well here in El Salvador the weather is so cold because we have around 12 degrees centigrades, and our normal is 32° for this reason yesterday night was hard for cold and windy, please enjoy a lot this life is little short.
Happy sunday.
Best regard @galberto
Very nice Sunday with friends and flea markets. I love your quote from C. S. Lewis, a long time favorite of mine. My mother used to say of joy that God had given her so much that her gift to him was joy.
Very kool place to be. I love that dudes shirt by the way. I wonder how many he had? Pretty blue skies, I can almost feel the breeze on my face. The coffee's looked really tasty as well. I'm jealous. Great post! :)

maybe it's a period of climate change. thus causing very hot sun
Change with me. Now! ^^
Our winter is a little different than your winter. We were happy to see the temperature go up to -13° today.
It's all about dressing warmly right now.
Hey @surfermarly ! This is my first time reading your posts, I enjoyed. I followed you. I live in Orlando, they have some fantastic flea markets in Central Florida because it's such a large tourist area I'm sure. When I go, I'm usually looking for sports memorabilia or cool stuff for my son. What do you usually look for? I'll look forward to your next post --- it doesnt hurt that your super cute too! ;)
Good post. Thanks for sharing the way you love to live your life. Its very interesting to note that you live a simple life, meeting friends, buying things like coffee, that is nice. I follow and upvote you.
I love the courtyards and lazy Sundays are the best!
I try to read the posts of some of those who are successful on Steemit so that I can learn. You of course are one of those I read. So I've tried to understand just what makes your posts so, for lack of a better phrase, desirable to read. I won't presume to have grasped it all but one quality that comes through is the near total lack of pretense. (Fuzzy boots are NOT to be considered pretentious by the way, no, really ;-) Pictured another way your posts are like a really smooooooth whisky. There's something just wonderfully relaxing in them. Anyway, well done!
PS - Have you perchance read Lewis' SciFi trilogy?
Haha that t-shirt cracked me up! I just imagined how offended a lot of people in Germany would be by the shirt if they would stand in line with that guy in front of them haha :-D
The Barraquito looks yummy ;-)
