Sounds good, but reality is often different. Look at Betamax vs. VHS, Myspace vs. Facebook, Barnesandnoble vs. Amazon, or Nokia who was leader in cellphones once.
There is no mercy in the market. At the end of the day the first one often loses and has to make place for the winner. Maybe because the followers don´t need to repeat the mistakes of the pioneering systems whereas e.g. Steemit still sticks with its inferior user interface and unfair reward system favoring only the whales.
On the other hand - if you can invest early enough and plenty enough in a platform which will be replacing Steemit, you still might have a profit. Key question is, if Ono is this company. For sure it is risky to advertise a competitor so frenetically without thinking about the consequences.
If Steemit will proceed in its masculinist style it can say Tschüss und Baba

It appears quite similar to Steemit. Where´s the key difference apart from being on another blockchain? The others you mentioned are completely different. Those are all information gathering tools whereby the user data are the product that is sold.
