I don't want to burst your bubble, but I don't think £250 is enough to live on monthly as the UK is not cheap. @revisesociology knows the UK prices and I am sure can fill you in on if this is doable. Good luck with your plans and I hope they happen for you.

We're moving into a small space and our rent also covers our utility bills and council tax. We're also coming with a decent amount of food and ingredients to cover for at least two months, so that cost is out of the way.
We'll buy a bus card to cover our transportation cost and restrict our movement initially. It'll be a bit bland at the start but it's the price we have to pay to get a better life.
Have you checked the food list that is allowed to enter the country as they are super strict on this. We had items confiscated that we had no idea we weren't allowed to bring in. It is going to be rough as I did this back in 1994 basically living in am outbuilding for a few months. It took me 6-12 months to get on my feet nd was fine afterwards.
Yeah I've made inquiries and also talked to my friends as well. I brought food stuff that are normally sold in the UK.
Good thing is that I'm coming with my wife and we'll figure it out together. I'll also get help from a few people there who could link me with a job
