Sorry, I realize I didn't address the content of this short post when I shamelessly link dropped.
I would have probably felt the same concern at one point on my journey when for awhile I went from the cup half full to the cup half empty in my outlook. But I've returned to my natural state of being for the most part, and while I do not think it's a coincidence that this many like minded people were drawn here, I don't fear it.
In fact, I find it no coincidence that you wrote this on my one year anniversary. On that day I wrote what would be considered a vague introductory post, but what was extremely clear and is still vivid to me now was how I was certain that I found the gathering place of Tomorrow Land, the dreamers and inventors. Have we been profiled? Yeah, pretty sure that's a given. But that doesn't inspire fear, quite the opposite.
I'll put it this way. My daughter went through a phase where she became extremely fearful of the potential of demonic (not exactly in a biblical sense, more in just an overall evil sense) forces in this world. I told her, that even if that were true, than that would mean there would also be angelic forces. She wanted to know why I was so sure that good would always prevail over evil. I told her no matter how hard it tried, darkness would always be overcome by light. You can see it in a physical way, just shut yourself in a closet...then light a candle.
No matter what Scott, remember this- real light is within, and no on has the power to snuff that out except you. A great metaphor for that was the movie Braveheart. They took the love his life and tortured him to death--but he still won. The worst that could be done on this plane was done to him and his script still ended in victory.

I would rather you shamelessly link drop than deceptively take the time to write an insincere comment first. Better that you wait till you have the time and the desire to respond.
Still don't see this link though so I will have to go back further to find it.
