Is fashion and sustainability a match?

in #sustainability7 years ago

The answer, in my point of wiev, is that although the two are far from a perfect match today, there is definitely some flirting going on!

Happened to pass through a shopping mall today and found a small but inspiring exhibition with works from students in a tailor/fitter course. They have managed to reuse different materials and make it into stunning dresses.

Getting students to be creative with their choice in materials will benefit them throughout their carrier. And also help them getting their businesses more opportunities since the demand for sustainable clothes is waiting to be met.

Plastic bags have never looked this good before!

No wonder that i loved this dress. It is made with pop corn! The kernels for the body piece, and popped ones for the shoulder strap.

If it has butterflies it is lovely, simple as that!

Wood faneer, braided together. Amazing lines in this dress.

Electrical wires are brightly coloured and creativitely used here.

Where fashion meets sustainability, the designs are really nice an unique, with time we will see sustainably fashion being modeled in major fashion shows.

Hope it will be soon!

To the question in your title, my Magic 8-Ball says:

Very doubtful

Baby steps are needed to be able to run! Wonder if if the bot was scared of this use of electrical wires?
