U.S. Marching Headlong into Conflict with Russia over Syria

I've mentioned in the past my fear that, it would seem, the US government intentionally heading straight into conflict with Russia. This conflict is very avoidable and yet it seems that the government does not want to avoid it. Unfortunately for Syrians - Syria has become the de facto battleground for this conflict to play out.

As far back as 2013 the Obama administration and the rest of the -wag the dog- government has been actively pursuing regime change in Syria for reasons which are about as credible as the mobile weapons laboratories that Saddam Hussein had before we went in and killed hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis. That incident of course was when John Kerry tried to sell a false flag chemical weapons attack which was perpetuated on the civilian population of Syria and killed 1400 people. This attack was later found by some sources to be carried out by the US armed and funded moderate rebels with the aid of Saudi Arabia and the intelligence services of major allies such as Turkey and Israel. This is not to mention that Hillary Clinton's state department has also been fingered as playing a role in distributing Sarin nerve gas in the region.

Immediately following the duck-walking neocon John Kerry's failure to sell the war with Syria to the American public ISIS stormed onto the scene in a big way. They rebranded themselves in May of 2013 and have been on the rise ever since. This mercurial rise to becoming the crown jewel of terrorism came at a time when US involvement in the campaign against this group was at it’s most aggressive.

Flash forward to today. ISIS is a multi billion dollar a year multi-national conglomerate. They have what would appear to be a fully formed hierarchical government, a public relations arm, their booming oil business, obviously they have their terror arm, human trafficking division, and I’m sure the list goes on. All of this was developed when pressure from the US was allegedly ramping up efforts on a weekly basis. Shipments of military weaponry to the US funded moderate rebels routinely was either directly dropped or passed straight through to ISIS to add to their growing armory of the highest quality US manufactured weaponry, not to mention vehicles.

Enter Russia most notably in the past year when the Russian government agreed to help it’s ally Syria fight ISIS within Syrian borders. Much to the apparent chagrin of the United States all of a sudden we were getting reports of ISIS being pushed back, taking on massive casualties and damage, and losing control of key oil resources. In this time as well we have scandals develop with the Turkish president’s son being involved in buying stolen ISIS oil thereby helping to fund the terror group. Not to mention the refugee crisis beginning around this time as well. Factor in Israel’s theft of Golan Heights from Syria and the proposed Qatar-Turkey pipeline that the west and it’s allies would love to get through Syria and it’s not too difficult to see why Syria has become the middle eastern battleground du jour.

Finally a few weeks ago a ceasefire was agreed to by the US and Russia. Five days later the US bombed Syrian military personnel killing 62 and injuring 100. The ceasefire dissolved soon after that. The US did however say that the bombing was an “accident” and expressed “regret”. I’m certain that the regret the US administration feels pales in comparison to the regret Syrians feel as their homes are bombed routinely all in an effort to unseat the leader of their country under the auspices of eradicating ISIS.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson has said: “If the US launches a direct aggression against Damascus and the Syrian Army, it would cause a terrible, tectonic shift not only in the country, but in the entire region.”

I don’t know about you but I don’t want to see the US government get into a war with Russia. I’m not wholly certain on what the aggressive stance on Syria is about but the US does not have, to be certain, any right to intervene in Syria nor anywhere else in the region while Russia has at least has the fact that Syria is it’s ally to justify their presence in that country.

War with Russia can escalate to nuclear status very quickly and there comes a time when even the biggest kid on the block can’t keep taking candy from the babies on the block. At a certain point the bully gets punched in the nose and with the mercurial temper that the state has we can’t rule out total annihilation after that. Restraint is certainly not a trait that the United States government has exhibited a whole lot of in the past couple of hundred years. Factor in Hillary's saber rattling and finger pointing in this election cycle and we have a recipe for disaster on a truly worldwide scale.

It’s important for us as a people to be aware of these underlying factors involved in these decisions. The time has come for us to stand up and demand a world free from the domination of a runaway militarized ship of state. We must strive for and actively work towards establishing a peaceful world on our own as it becomes more and more evident that the loose cannon that is the United States Federal Government can and will cause further destruction on a mass scale if we do not.
