Syria shot down Israeli F-16, what's next?

in #syria7 years ago

At approximately 6:30 A.M. on Saturday, an Israeli F-16 fighter jet was shot down while flying over the western countryside of Damascus. The Syrian Army launched S-200 missiles to repel the Israeli aggression; the F-16 pilot is reportedly dead.
What could happen next, will Israel escalate the tensions or not?

Hi Kevork - I found you! I suppose we knew this was likely to happen, but that does not make it any easier. When elites make money out of wars and when the weapons trade is so lucrative, wars will go on and on. Ordinary people are just expendables to those who enjoy and profit from their war games.
The Syrian people need all of our support. Their country has been destabilised and vandalised and yet despite this, they continue day after day to raise their children and nurture their resilience, in the face of sustained assault.
We need to stop the increasing militarisation (of even our police forces) across NATO countries. Efforts seem to be afoot to increase fear and hostilities not just in Syria but in Europe and America too. Perhaps they think that if we are fearful enough we will swap our civil rights and free speech in exchange for heightened security and surveillance.
James Corbett @thecorbettreport has some excellent recent reports here and would I am sure appreciate your comments.

Excellent assessment, dear friend. The military establishments making huge fortunes thanks to the wars they trigger around the world. My people suffered a lot and it's time to bring back peace after crushing the terrorist groups.
