You would not believe it but Canada has many Chinese community. So if you're craving for some Oriental food this is the place to be.
The House of Gourmet offers many Chinese food one can think of by we tried my aunt Amalda 's favorite that means rice porridge, grilled duck and sweet dessert.
So how was our rating? The food was very tasty especially the porridge. It was very soft and very gentle to our kidneys .The duck was juicy and tender to the bones. The dessert was strange as it taste like crepe but the sticky white rice in the top with sesame seed was so so.
The place was clean by standard. The service was quick and friendly. But the servers rarely speak English. What I love about the service is the complimentary red tea.
Its a walk from the Art Gallery of Toronto
From the restaurant we take the streetcar to Spadina then another streetcar to Castle Frank and finally a bus to Wellesly where from a stop we walk towards home.
So do try this is you got time. The address is 484 Dundas St.West Toronto ON M5T 1G9
In case this article interest you. I'm sure this place won't disappoint as to you get a taste of Chinese food, culture and the artistic vibes .
I must warn you though that this place is quite popular so be ready for the long queue. Though they serve roasted duck I can guarantee you that you won't smell like one.
Tough my aunt avoids high salt diet so yes you can request the waitresses for such as well. I ain't a big fan of tilapia back home but I'm. guessing thats the fish in the porridge. In here like most Chinese restaurant have fish tanks with live fish.I wonder if it's for goodluck too or just a storage for their fish for serving
