This afternoon, together with my family, we went to the mall and decided to relax eating sweet at Caffè Vergnano. The bar is not very big but it is formed in order to have a long counter on three sides, so as to be able to serve as many customers as possible. The bar also has tables to sit and enjoy a wonderful dessert in company.
At the center of the room there is also a giant screen that often projects the national news or sporting events or music. My favorite dessert is called "pasticciotto leccese" that is a well-cooked pastry with the cream inside. A specialty of the province of Lecce that can also be found in the chocolate version or with the filling of cream and black cherry. I can guarantee that the images do not do justice and unfortunately it is not possible to convey the goodness of the dessert.
The bar is very busy especially on weekends and is always open from 9 am to 9 pm. There are many girls working and they are all extremely kind and knowledgeable. If you find yourself wandering around the Molfetta shopping center, don't hesitate to stop by for a good dessert.
