When it comes to getting the best times for family bonding, it has to be with great food and a cozy ambience.
Since today is a holiday, our country celebrate Labor Day, we decided to go back to Gerona's La Caridad Farm to take our lunch as well as spent the rest of the day there. We kept coming back to this place very often. The kids love it there so much.
The location of the farm is in the middle of the ricefields! It is two hectares rice land. The owners had turned a portion of their agricultural land into a farm where they can enjoy planting some organic plants and herbs and as well as take care a few domestic animals.
The scenic views and fresh air is what I truly came for, second to their food of course. They had created little islets that attracts more tourists and visitors in. Likewise, they raise fishes like Tilapia in their fish ponds. Sometimes you can catch the fish yourself and have them cook in any way you want.
They have built cottages scattered in the area. It cost around Php 110.00 ($2.13) per cottage for a whole day stay. And this was ours, its pretty big and they have hammocks on the side. I like the hammocks because it is great for our breastfeeding sessions with the little one. He easliy doze off to sleep.
They also provide kayaks for rent at Php50.00 ($1) per 30 minutes ride. The kids will always have a boat ride every time we are here. Though the last time, it wasn't a kayak but rather an actual small boat. He and his father always take the boat ride. But I guess it was damaged and cant be used anymore.
My son was a little afraid to use the kayak, it's his first time, especially that it can only accommodate one person. He really wanted to have the boat ride. Eventually, he overcome his fears and had given it a try. He was so brave! I am proud of him! No worries, the water is not too deep at all, I think it is a knee water level only.
Moreover, the place was equipped with Instagramable corners. Oh, we know how most people would always take shots and post it directly to IG world. They have created stations where guests can pose beautifully or wackily. I like their cute quotes! Sometimes, people come here mostly just to take selfies.
And this one seemed to be my favorite. It's a checklist and I would mark GUTOM! hahaha as I am always hungry. Food is life!
Now, let us walk through their restaurant. Everything is built up in wood, which makes it more homey. I think they have the simplest counter I have ever seen. They dont have any printout menu. Actually, they draw their menu on the chalkboard! How cute is that!
They also offer other local delicacies from small enterprises.
And an ice-cream stand too!
These are what we ordered for the day. The farm only provides heavy snacks and no rice meals yet.
Pinoy Burger ---> made from 100% beef and they use their home-grown lettuce. You can also request to add in sunny side up egg.
Pansit! Oh, you should have know me better, there will always be pansit.. hahaha.. I love their pansit because of the fresh vegetable that they hand-picked in their garden. Plus it has tofu!
Cheesy Fries.. Of course, when you have toddler there would also be fries each time. Hahaha.
We also ordered half gallon of ice cream which I forgot to capture because it was so hot that we ate it at once.
However, the tour is aint over. There are more! We continued our exploration through the domestic animals that the farm has.
I thought it was only us who were on the walk. We were wrong until we saw this lovebirds along the way. They seemed inseparable!
Also, there were a squad of ducks swimming. I might jump in with them too anytime in this heat. But, I wonder while I was taking the shot, they kept on showing their butt off! haha or were there food underneath the water.
The owner is a 200% dog lover! He has too many of them running around. Sometimes they come in dresses.. hehe too cute! I think I saw more than five (5) dogs. But I only captured three.. hahaha
The goats were too friendly. They were not afraid while my kids kept petting and touching them. They are used to be around with people.
I was sad to see this monkey for he was tied in chained by the tree. I dont think he is quite comfortable either.
And in the rabbit island, there were lots of rabbits you can carry and feed them right there and then. Some were friendly and not afraid to be hold while there are atill a few who just wouldn't want to be near to us. It was a constant chase from my kids and the rabbits.
They also have an albino snake and a few hamster or guinea pigs.. hahaha cant tell the difference! Sorry!
When you are not eating or kayaking, you either run wild just as this child of mine!
That's it! I hope you enjoyed the grand tour.
Thank you for being with us today. Cheers!
