I was traveling on business today and found myself in Cincinnati OH around lunch time. I always like to try local restaurants, and avoid chains whenever possible. I googled "where locals like to eat" and chose this restaurant - Hitching Post - from the choices it gave. It boasted "World's Best Fried Chicken" and so I decided to give it a try.
On the wall above my head there was a caricature of the owners drawn on the wall:
The menu boasted a wide variety of down home type cooking:
I had to try to "world's best fried chicken." I don't know about that claim, but it was very good. The chicken breast was a good portion, very juicy, with a crispy flavorful coating. For side orders, I got the mini potato pancakes. This is something you usually don't see offered. They were little discs of fried goodness, a delightful change from the usual mashed potatoes or french fries. The green beans were well seasoned with bits of ham and onions. A dinner roll was served on the side with butter.
This was a delicious meal (too bad I was too full to try any of their homemade pies!) And it was very reasonably priced at under $10 with the iced tea drink. I would recommend, and I will stop here again when traveling!

since I like chicken so much, I also tried their "world's best fried chicken" and for a chicken lover like me, it was really good! I want to go back to try other things on their menu.. I am excited to go back..

Looks like a great menu, I would've went straight for the chicken and waffles! One of my favorite all time dishes
