A couple points / responsive thoughts popped into mind for me while reading this:
if global sentiment as a whole is known then developers will have a deep enough understanding of human needs to actually create to meet the supply for those needs.
Two things... “global sentiment as a whole” is definitely a complex summary, given the numerous niche groups with different views & opinions on various matters, and considering how many of those views/opinions are merely absorbed through cultural influence, past programming, and essentially taken on from others versus concluded independently upon thorough consideration...
And then, there’s the matter of even if/when such sentiment might be accurately deduced through effective data collection and processing - it may be an entirely different skill set requiring development/activation on the part of the developers to match that sentiment with the vision of what all could be built to serve it in the bigger picture. Or phrased differently - it may be the visionaries who serve the role of bridging that gap, whether they are developers or not. If we’re talking about the anomalies like Satoshi, Vitalik, Larimer, or Ohad - sure. Though the average developer... I’d guess that far fewer have the background and knowledge to “deeply understand human needs” and the scope of how such innovations would need to be developed with the bigger entrepreneurial mindset of their successful integration as components in the new evolving societal ecosystems. Those may be the types of skills and executive capabilities just as key to the implementation of applications utilizing data analytics as the data components themselves.
And the closing reference that had come to mind, in context of “global sentiment,” summarized:
