This is not a holiday playlist but a rant.
Taxes have really given me a headache so bad. I don't want to go into details but I do pay local taxes and national taxes in Korea. However the United States asks me to file a report of what I make and also include my wife even though she has no intention of becoming an American citizen. This gets all messed up when I send her documents to the tax office in America in December with registered mail and they still don't respond. Do they now pay the fed employees with refer because it's been 6 months and no reply?
They say I need a tax ID for my wife or I can't file. They say if I file then I get some stimulus. They can keep that and just do their job! The reason I had to send registered mail in December was that was the only mail that worked going to the United States. Other countries have post offices that work, but the richest country in the world can't even get a post office together.
I love America but does anything work over there anymore?
The thing about this Saturday Night Live skit is that it is too true.
Just to help me cool off I am going back to the music. Here's the Beatles taxman from 1966.
One, two, three, four
One, two... (One, two, three, four)
Let me tell you how it will be
There's one for you, nineteen for me
'Cause I'm the taxman
Yeah, I'm the taxman
Should five percent appear too small
Be thankful I don't take it all
'Cause I'm the taxman
Yeah, I'm the taxman
If you drive a car, car, I'll tax the street
If you try to sit, sit, I'll tax your seat
If you get too cold, cold, I'll tax the heat
If you take a walk, walk, I'll tax your feet
Taxman
'Cause I'm the taxman
Yeah, I'm the taxman
[Verse 3]
Don't ask me what I want it for
(Haha, Mr. Wilson)
If you don't want to pay some more
(Haha, Mr. Heath)
'Cause I'm the taxman
Yeah, I'm the taxman
Now my advice for those who die
(Taxman!)
Declare the pennies on your eyes
(Taxman!)
Cause I'm the taxman
Yeah, I'm the taxman
And you're working for no one but me (Taxman!)
You're a US citizen?
I am Woodstock born in the USA. I just don't visit often.
