Great post. Dude, I tried to get residence in Panama last year.. One of the prerequisites in the residency process was to open a bank account. Thanks to FATCA and a shit lawyer, we got robbed of our money and could not open the account. I don't want to think about it!!!

Sorry Jason, you are not the first to have to deal with that hurdle. No banks want Americans, I had to actually open one at Banco Azteca (Mexican Bank) here. Most people would not recommend them but once I had it for a year it opened doors at other banks.
True. My wife is dual Swiss/ US citizen. She couldn't open a Swiss bank account. One more example of US tyranny and why people want to chuck their citizenship.
