This approach usually stems from the Quran's words known as "sword-verses" (9:5 and 9:29), which essentially call worshipers to "punish grievously" all Pagans.
According to today's religious leaders however, these “abrogated, canceled, and replaced” those verses in the Quran that call for “tolerance, compassion, and peace.” Whether they were indeed replaced by the banksters or it's just an excuse, I can't say for sure. As with any religious scriptures, it will be up for subjective interpretations at the end of the day, I suppose.
