When areas in our life seem to not go as planned. Determination and brute force is not always the right choice.
In my personal journey thus far, I will admit change it scary. It can led to a path of confusion dealing with uncertainties. I have dreamed for a long time to be a teacher. This has been what I have been working towards for a long time. However, I noticed that things that were simple were not going in the direction that I planned. My thoughts seemed slow, I no longer had my joy, and my vocabulary decreased at an exponential rate. I thought that it must be depression. Close but more of a spiritual depression. I knew that I am called for teaching, but still felt like a failure. I felt that I was not worth anything, and found even school work to be a challenge.
What had happened in my life was things were not going to plan as I desired them. The truth is we can make plans and have true heart felt desires. However, the question we must ask ourselves remains "Is the path I am right not going to be fulfilling and is this path the correct path for me? Realizing the options around us can broaden our perspectives in enlightening and unique ways.
- Always look and be aware of your options!
They do not have to be exactly, but can help bring some light.- Believe the answer is on the way.
I was broken wondering if I even matter, and prayed for the answer to my problems. Then a family member called and told me you asked for an answer. Then believe in God that he heard you and you will have the answer if you wait on him, and thank him for the answer is on the way. - We need to believe with patience that something will work out.
I searched myself, and would tell anyone else to do the same. Is this the right path. Also, can you believe that there is another choice?
- Believe the answer is on the way.
Resistance to change.
I had thought that secondary education was my calling, but I realized that I am suppose to be a primary school teacher. Yes, when I said that to myself this is what I will do, I will admit a battle started within. My heart "says just teach", while my head says "you have been going for secondary all this time it would be a waste." My problem was I became resistant to change, this can only make things harder.
Sometimes change is a good thing. If change was always bad, then how did a certain CEO of a electric car manufacture plant change things to become one of the top leaders in cars. Not to mention this same CEO had a failing space transportation and did a few changes that made a government entity funnel funds to save his company. ( Yes, you know who he is.)
- Change must be viewed as par of the product.
Without change things become stale in the work environment. Without change you take the risk of failing before you even finish. - Change is always a good option to consider in most cases.
- One way to view change could be to see the goal and work backwards to an alternate solution.
Making preparations for change.
My journey next was preparing for this change to talk with a advisor for assistance. I will not go empty handed. I have questions to ask and excel sheets (to plan for the next year or two until graduation, come on masters degree). This means mental agreement with physical documentation as I believe if you can model the product. then you perceive how it will be like to experience, what is feels like, and looks like.
- It takes faith and a game-plan.
- Find People to help you and share you experience.
- Bring a plan to the table and be open for changes. Physical models or written statements are key when you implement your strategy.
- Believe in yourself, and your source of strength.
