No doubt the Labor party will be in power come next election. However you can rest assured a year or two in some 'polls' will show declining support for the PM and then some other minister will challenge for the leadership and eventually take over as PM (to which voters had no intention of happening).
Australian politics is just so predictable. I am so disappointed in Turbull, he was already made well before he came into politics, in theory he should have been immune to criticism and pushed forward with what he believed in, people want a leader and a leader isn't someone that accepts to be undermined and disrespected by his subordinates.
Haha - I agree about Turnbull, and that’s a pretty sharp insight. He really shouldn’t have cared - but he did.
I think you’re wrong about the Labor Party though. They changed their rules so to change a leader they need to have the whole of their grassroots membership vote, as well as the Parliamentary members. So it would be time consuming (months) and not worth the drama. For example, Bill Shorten is still leader after 5 years (and three Liberal PMs)
