In November, we'll be here 3 years, so we've seen three hurricane seasons.
However, last year and the year before, there was nothing to worry about where we are.
Although Acapulco got hit badly last year October, we're very far from there, so it didn't affect us at all. This year is a little different. Those hurricanes are brutal this year.
After North Carolina, Tennessee and Florida, now also Acapulco hit again, TWICE!
We don't hear that on the news! So from what I heard from people who are actually in Acapulco right now, first the hurricane hit, stopped, and came back again. So they were hit twice in one night. Now, this time it was more expected, unlike last year, when people didn't have any idea they were going to get hit by a hurricane...But it still came as a surprise to most.
The East coast of Mexico (and just above where we are) has some damage as well from a different hurricane. I really don't know which is which anymore, but I believe on this side of the country it was Milton, and on the West coast it was John.
Tabasco and Veracruz seem to have some flooding, but it's hard to tell because they are very slow with that kind of news here. Mexico's new president, it will be everywhere, but this? Nope.
I guess kinda like in the US...
So far, we've been damn lucky here in Quintana Roo. In Yucatan (which we're right next to) they've had some minor flooding, but we only had major winds and a thunderstorm.
We had a category 3 fly through here in June or July, Beryl was the name, and even though nothing major was damaged, we were without electricity for only 8 hours or so, while the rest of the city had no electricity for much longer than that. A 3 sounds mild, but it was quite impressive to be honest. I'm not sure what a cat 4 or 5 would look like in our area.
Now, I have to say that the area where we live is one of the oldest areas of the city. I believe these houses have been here 15 to 20 years. They are all still standing, so I'd say they'll stand for a stronger hurricane too. But I really wouldn't like to experience one though.
Near Future Plans
This all made me think. What if they do warn people to evacuate, like they've done before?
We'd have nowhere to go, since we have animals. I couldn't just leave them behind. And even worse, right now there's no way I'd be prepared for something like that, at all.
So I will need a car. Preferably in the next year or so. At this point I can't do much, but I know it'll get better, and so a car is on the books. That way, if we want to move, we can. If we want to go somewhere to bide our time, we can too. It would feel a little better, plus, where we live, it would be a good thing to have a car.
Now just one of my business ideas has to pick up, and we're in business...
Family in North Carolina
It's not direct family for me. But in my heart they are. My eldest daughter still has an older brother and grandparents in the US. Although they are actually from Pennsylvania, they live in North Carolina.
They were also very lucky as the hurricane swept through the state and caused a disaster in some parts. It seems to be a horror show there.
I really hope these people will all be spared from now on.
There are still a few weeks more to go in the hurricane season, so hopefully, it will all be OK and mild...

I've been following a little about the Hurricanes, it's pretty crazy alright. So much destruction and loss of life.
I saw a video showing a lot of Acapulco under water. I hope that the worst is over now.
Good to make plans though, having a car seems like a great idea xxx
I know. Acapulco getting hit like this twice, after their huge one last year is just devastating. And to think that it was targeted (even though they say it can't be) makes it worse. Acapulco has a lot of freedom fighters, and the locals are more Anarchist already than any other place here in Mexico. So I'd say it has something to do with it. But yeah, no proof...
It’s been a pretty wild season so far. Hoping it’s natural cycles and not manually enhanced ones as we are so apt to do these days.. feel bad for my friends and colleagues in the southeast!
Oh, the one hitting North Carolina was definitely engineered. For very good reasons. Well, not for us, but whoever is doing it. They want those lithium fields in NC...Blackrock has had their eye on those things for some time now. I guess they're just not rich enough yet. They also bought up quite a bit of bitcoin. The one that hit Acapulco has also been engineered. Not sure about the one that hit the East coast and Florida. And yes, I feel for all the people involved. It's terrible to lose home and everything but to lose family is a whole other thing. May they rest in peace.
Ugh yeah no shit, the foolish thing about it is that this whole lithium craze is about reached its peak. EV’s are shit and people don’t want them but they are being forced down our throats. I hope we can turn a corner and fight back on this insanity, we are close to losing so much and I’m not trying to be hyperbolic.
A lot of theories around Katrina and the other one that destroyed Houston a few years ago, crazy the technology they are pushing with this shit.
Yeah, EVs are no use with a flood haha. And there's so many more reasons why they're useless in the end. Good old gas and diesel can't be beat! And it's definitely not as environmentally unfriendly as they try to make people believe.
I really hope people wake up to this and start to wake up and stand up.
It's time!
And yes, there's a lot of technology used in these cases. People who don't think they can move hurricanes along and tornados and modify their strength should really open their eyes. It's all out in the open if one wants to find it.
Been watching a few YouTube and news clips about the crazy weather over there. Scary.
Yes, it is a little. Now if the weather can just stay nice and mild for a few more weeks...then it's over. But it doesn't look like it will.
Good luck. It was quite harrowing watching Carolina etc. tons of herbalists losing their apocatheries etc too
Yes. And lots lost their lives and others lost their homes. It's terrible. My (ex) mother in law lives in NC and she told me that there were bodies floating in the river but they can't take them out because there aren't enough body bags...It's just crazy to see this in a Western country.
