Hopefully by now you have seen our first post on bringing AFL Fantasy leagues to you all here on Steemit through our page @aflfantasy
In addition to our year long Fantasy leagues in the Classic Format, we will also offer season long leagues for AFL Elite (Draft version) so we can cater for all AFL Fantasy lovers.
What is AFL Fantasy Elite?
Unlike the classic format in AFL Fantasy with a Salary Cap, you build your Fantasy team in Elite format via a live draft.
The draft is held online at an agreed time and players make 1 selection per round through the AFL Fantasy App until their team is full.
The selections go in order described on the site as “Snake.” This means if you have the 1st pick in the 1st round, you would have the last pick in the 2nd round, then the first pick in the 3rd Round and so on until you team is full.
This helps keep it fair for everyone regardless of what Draft position you initially get :)
What makes us different and unique?
We will be offering free social leagues and also the more competitive leagues where you can play for SBD.
We recognise that none of the AFL Fantasy services eg Moneyball or Draftstars offer any yearlong competitive leagues so we would like to provide that.
Here you can select the competitions you would like to enter for the Draft version of AFL Fantasy.
We are intending to run 3 Leagues and will expand or decrease this amount depending on what sort of response we get.
Initially we are looking for participants to join the following 3 leagues.
One is free, one has a 5 SBD entry fee and one has a 10 SBD entry fee.
You can enter just 1, 2 or all 3 of them but only 1 entry per league.
For each league we are seeking 16 participants as this will allow a nice fair fixture where you play all other players once through Rounds 1-19.
In this format we will not be playing Round 1 or the Bye Rounds (Rounds 12, 13 & 14).
We will have a Top 8 that make finals and they will be played through Rounds 20-23.
Who runs and operates this page?
This page is owned by two local Aussie Blokes named @o07 and @dahmsy79
All leagues will be hosted by the AFL Fantasy site so all rules and scoring will be as per normal. You can see those listed here
Team Formation on all Elite Competitions:
5 Defenders, 7 Mids, 1 Ruck, 5 Forwards and 4 Bench.
No Captains
Emergencies: YES
Rolling Lockout: YES
Restricted Free Agent: YES
1 day buffer period for bids (1st round Last draft pick to bottom is initial order)
Any Trade Requests: Commissioner Approved
Trades can’t be lopsided agreements or will be cancelled
House Rules
In addition to the Rules listed on the Site there will be some other House Rules for each Elite competition.
The first one is around Free Agency.
With Free Agency we just require players act within the spirit of the game.
No mass dumping of players into Free Agency. If you are out of contention or don’t wish to play anymore that’s a shame but just leave your teams as is.
If you have ever been in a private Draft league before you would of seen the odd player go on tilt and/or threaten to do the mass dump.
In event of that happening we would contact the league immediately and make emergency ruling.
Same goes for any Delisting’s of high scoring players unless that player is suffering a medium to long term injury.
We invite anyone in any of the league’s to let us know any if they believe someone has not acted in the “spirit of the game.”
Additional Rules To Help Fair Play:
The other House Rules will be on players who are mathematically out of contention for Finals attempting a Trade.
No trades will be approved unless both players are still live chances in the season.
The Leagues Trade period will finish at the completion of Round 17
The Prize money for each league is as follows:
Free League – 16 Participants
Winner: 5 SBD
Runner up:2 SBD
Highest Points Scorers: 3 SBD
Bounty: 0.5 SBD*
5 SBD Entry League – Total Prize Pool 80 SBD - 16 Participants
Winner: 40 SBD
Runner Up: 20 SBD
2 x Prelim Finals Losers: 5 SBD each
Highest League Points Scorer: 10 SBD
Bounty: 1 SBD*
10 SBD Entry League – Total Prize Pool 160 SBD - 16 Participants
Winner: 80 SBD
Runner Up: 40 SBD
2 x Prelim Finals Losers: 10 SBD each
Highest League Points Scorer: 20 SBD
Bounty: 1 SBD*
What is A Bounty?
This is an added free chance to win SBD for any players drawn to play @dahmsy79 or @o07 in their weekly league matches. If you beat either of us in your match you win, simple as that!
Are there more prizes on offer?
In addition you will have further chances to win weekly SBD in fun competitions that you can upvote to enter.
We will mix these up each week to keep it interesting but one contest we will definitely run each week is rewarding the highest weekly point scorer in each league.
Ensure you keep an eye out for these and upvote to enter for free chances to win SBD. (A Percentage of SBD from all upvotes will be given to the winners each week).
When does the season start?
The AFL Season starts on March 22nd so this gives us a bit of time to start filling up these leagues.
To enter the competition of your choice just upvote your selection(s) below in the comments.
What Happens Next?
Once we have 16 upvotes for a league we will post a league completion notice and list the players that are in.
Keep an eye on these posts to see if your name is listed.
If you see your name listed for the Free league just upvote the post within the time limit given to be a confirmed starter for that League.
Once all 16 players have upvoted to confirm we will send the league code in a hidden message to your Steemit wallet.
If you see your name listed for the 5 or 10 SBD league just go ahead and transfer your entry fee to us within 48 hours.
Once all 16 have paid we will then message you the code to join :)
In the event that a league did not go ahead for any reason, your full SBD entry fee amount will be refunded.
