Why is it that so many people go on about their lives without thinking of others? Its really a sad case seeing what the school system is turning into around the World. It seems like there is more of a focus now on the "I" and not the "whom". Such a great percentage of the populations of the World are becoming more and more focused on one thing... Themselves. I don't know why this trend has come about, but I do know how to make a difference in someones life. (CONTINUED BELOW)

I'll never forget the other day while waiting in line at a Post Office. Everyone of the people there at the time (around 10) were on their telephones focused on what is happening in social media. Missing out in actuality is what is really happening here. People are so self focused that they don't even look up to acknowledge others around them. This can be changed.
First things first. When going shopping or going out, rely less on your phone and more on your enthusiastic personality. Look for those that need help around town. Look for older people to help with their yards, or to walk them across the street. Anything. So many people need help in our communities. Yet, we would rather help ourselves by being entertained on our telephones.

Your kids want you. Notice if you are on your phone or your computers, your kids seek your attention. Over and over they come, wanting to play, ask a question, seek advice, yet we turn them away. Just a minute. Give me a minute. Wait a minute, then I'll come play, etc.
Put the phones down and get off of the computers and listen to your kids. Take them out to the park WITHOUT your telephones. Go have fun. They just want you. Before you know it they will be teens and you will have missed your open opportunity to really pour yourselves into them. Teach your kids, or others will.

Have you ever thought about ditching the telephone and computer for 24 hours? Can you do it? Just think of the things you would do differently if you didn't have those crutches in life. There is hiking, swimming, biking, hanging out with friends, going to see your parents or parent, checking out an antique store, talking with people in some store, playing with your kids, and just looking up at the sky. Go for it.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN SOMEONE'S LIFE STARTS WITH YOU. MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR LIFE FIRST AND EVERYTHING ELSE WILL FOLLOW. PUT DOWN THE CELL PHONE> Good Luck. SEIZE THE DAY!!!

I do that every Friday it is called Shabbat....Everyone should put away electronic sometimes and spend that valuable time with family/friends.
Yep. Awesome. Shabbat Shalom. Coming again this Friday evening.
I just spent a week at Boy Scout camp with my two sons. Thankfully there was little to no cell phone reception there and essentially, I didn't use my cell phone for a week. I wasn't able to check my cryptocurrency portfolio either during that time. I didn't miss it, and I got to spend a lot of quality time with my children and friends. It's very well worth taking the time to just shut the cell phones off for a while. The world will still be there when you return.
Awesome reply. I will be travelling over the next 3 weeks with no cell phone, only internet at hotels. Looking forward to chilling out for awhile.

Thank you lordoftruth
nice post and in fact true.........now-a-days each and every one are too busy using their phones forgetting about the beautiful world around them :)
Thank you very much.
I've done that before its calming
Me too. I can unwind and contemplate life without wondering if the phone was about to ring.
I am 100% with you on this, but most good paid jobs have to problem that you have to be avaiable 24/5. I hate that damn cell and if i could would doom that thing out of my life but at the moment - i don't have a choice.
But on weekends i turn it down and enjoy the time with the family or with myself.
Thank you for that great Post. :)
I know the feeling. I cringe every time my phone rings thinking it may be my supervisor. cheers. And, you are welcome. Keep Steeming along.
I totally agree!! It's sad watching people ignore the people around them choosing to be on their phone. I must admit have I have done this myself but I'm becoming aware that it's sending a message to the people in the room that whoever I'm texting is more important than they are..
Absolutely. I just finished with an English Camp. I will never forget the teens on their break. Everyone on their cell phones and not talking to each other. Crazy.
Very sad!! It's one way to lose our youth as well as any age. Cell phones aren't bringing us closer as a society but further away, as well as social media.
I actually did that how many days ago, I went out of town to visit my younger siblings and disconnected everything. I didn't check my mobile phone for two days. It felt so nice, being able to bond with them and take a break from all that chaos brought by the internet. Lovely post, by the way.
Nice story. I hope all of us can learn how wonderful it can be being disconnected from technology.
Hopefully, I mean, technology is nice. But we still have to interact with people every once in a while.
I fully agree. I wish we would do an actual sabbath for just 1 day per week. No phones, computers, etc.
GO go go :) My last post can also get low view for same way. But I wish every family will care their kids. My organization work with kids and I hope you will check it too https://steemit.com/life/@azizbd/my-last-30-days-humanitarian-activities-overview
Hey mate, this is worth a UPV, RS and follow. Nice post. Thanks for sharing. @galenkp
Thank you very much galenkp. I very much appreciate that. Have a great day.
So wish I could ditch my laptop and phone for 24 hours, but it's difficult. We have to attend a funeral on Friday morning, and this is the only way we can keep in touch and discuss the arrangements with family and friends. My brother told me this morning how much he hates social platforms, and misses the days of personal contact, yet one can reach so many people this way. Food for thought, though.
