Good morning TEAM!!!
Its a cold and wet, miserable day here in Brisbane and its about time I gave you all an update on whats going on around the TA universe.
Firstly, sorry for being a bit absent lately, I've had a lot on my plate with the State election happening at the moment, plus actual work and a few "other" issues to work through.
So the charity drive is at a point now where I can start making approaches to companies to get the best value products to make up the packs for the kids. We have a bit of $300 in donations from all of your hard work, this should get us about 50 colouring book packs, hopefully more if I can work out a good way of "packing" them.
This coming week I'm making contact with the Lady Cilento Childrens hospital to fine tune the details on any requirements or things that are banned. I'm pushing to have this all done before Christmas, but I know a lot of other charities give away things at Christmas time, it may be better to actually deliver in January so we aren't forgotten in the sea of charities.
There are also talks going on with steemPH, Team Canada and Team USA about doing a combined 10,000 Flyer marketing challenge. Everyone in the teams would post a flyer in their area advertising Steemit. This only needs each person to put up 4-5 Flyers for it to be a success. Steemit Inc doesn't appear to be doing any marketing, so we need to take it upon ourselves to make this system a huge success.
Lastly, shout out and thanks to @choogirl for the curating she's been doing on the Team Australia account. I'm sure the whole team are greatful for your assistance there.

Love what TA has been doing! If you're not dropping off till the New Year we have more time to raise money. $300 sounds great but I think we can do $500. I'll save some more Steem so let me know. Also choo is fantastic and she puts in alot of work! I see the teamaustralia account on dam near everyone's posts and i know it's appreciated. Lastly teamcanada would love to splash some flyers around promoting this fantastic site

If you watched the steemfest video steemit Inc is focus on how to handle increased traffic on the blockchain, setting a good foundation, and fixing bugs as they come. They're not not focusing in it just trying to make the best use of resources so it's just not a priority.
As we're just starting not sure we can participate right now, but would consider participating in future events over @steemusa #steemusa.
@teamaustralia - my experience with donating to Lady Cilento Children's Hospital is that you need to avoid anything that has glass and is too small since those are considered dangerous to children. I actually think it is better to get something in at Christmas time because they told me that it can be tough for children in hospital at that time but I think something at the beginning of the year is also good.
We are definitely all grateful for the work that @choogirl is doing for #teamaustralia, and I hope that in the Steemit world Australia is a better place than USA or Canada :)
