"Carol, I SEE YOU EVERYWHERE! Where do you get all the energy?"
That's what people asked me all the time.
When you work for the government, you served the nation. You served the people.
I served the SMEs and the eCommerce industry.
Championing Digital Economy is what we do at MDEC (Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation). In the division that I am tasked at, eCommerce & DFTZ Division is indeed a 'hot' and 'trending' division.
DFTZ stands for 'Digital Free Trade Zone'. What is that? In simple terms, it's an Government's initiatives to help our Malaysia's Business Owners to facilitate exports. Making it easier, less hassle and faster too.
Today is my 'appointment' day outside of the office. I usually stay put in Cyberjaya (that's where our HQ is).
Already people requesting me to meet up to talk about eCommerce, so I asked people to meet me up closed to the city instead of them travelling to Cyberjaya.
So I fixed:
9:00am
Met with www.aladdinstreet.com. Here i am with Dato Sri Vincent Tiew... lovely chap!
Then out of the blue, bumped into an long long lost contact 'Nicky Lum' from Ezyhaul (the chap in darker shirt).
10:00am
Met with the lovely Pial (in light yellow shirt) and Sin Nah from GIFT ASEAN (Global Institute For Tomorrow). Pial is the Head of Programs for GIFT ASEAN.
11:30am
Met with Shiying (Former Head of GrabCar), she wants to pick my brain on some ideas she has on eCommerce. Didn't get a photo of her... shy or maybe i was so engrossed at chatting with her... This is her profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/shiyinglau/
Smart Lady... passionate with the tech startup world. Admire her tenacity. Workaholic too!
1:30pm
Met with Janette (General Manager for www.BuyMalaysia.com). It was her birthday yesterday but she was nice enough to buy us lunch! Thanks Janette!!! Happy belated birthday to you... stay young and beautiful always!
3:00pm
Met with Emily from Brands Solutions to help SMEs to exports to Indonesia. Am guiding her what the SMEs wants. Therefore that we hope that she can provide end to end solutions for SMEs to export Health and Beauty products to Indonesia. I didn't get to snap a wefie with her... but this was a recent photo i had with her...
Busy & hectic day today... and tomorrow is T.G.I.F.!!!! But still a busy day...
That's it for tonight...
Hugs,
Carol

A trader in Sabah exported 7100 of fresh young coconuts in October 2017 to a buyer in Poland for USD$30,000.
If he continues to do that, an instant millionaire!
