You might be thinking, "Denion, are you dumb? Plagiarism? Of course that's a NO! Who in the world like plagiarism? I thought school teachers taught you not to plagiarize, no?".
Seriously, I'm very against plagiarism. Since we are here on Steemit, imagine you read a very nicely written article and thinking "This dude writes so well! Upvote first!". Then, you copy paste part of the content and Google it. A different website contains the exact same article - WORDS TO WORDS, and you realize you have to remove the upvote given. Yes, I'd seen such article on Steemit and it's the very first article of that Steemian too (I better not name names)!
Ok, let's talk about other social media platforms. Even in Facebook and Instagram, plagiarism does happen. Like copy exactly the same and just paste it as if the content belongs to you and use it. In Instagram, perhaps just find a way to steal a fella's photo and upload it as your own picture. Perhaps not many will make noise when this happened on Facebook and Instagram since users are not paid for their contents. When it comes to paid content like Steemit and Lit, then it is a different story already.
Why do I talk about this? It is because people that plagiarized argue why plagiarizing is okay for them. Let me shoot you with the points these people used to defend themselves.
REASON 1: Because people do that in Facebook
Hey what? People plagiarize in Facebook doesn't mean its ok. Imagine someone plagiarize your profile, steal your profile picture, plagiarize your profile identity, download all your photos and make it as theirs, okay for you? This is not a excuse to say that plagiarizing is acceptable.
REASON 2: Give people some time to understand the system
So my friend introduce me to Steemit, common sense wise, he/she won't expect me to copy some content and just paste here and post it up, right? I hope my common sense is correct. It's like as a new Facebook/Instagram user, you won't do this - uploading people's pictures in your picture albums, copy paste other's post status. That's why you use the "SHARE" button provided by Facebook. By the way, "SHARE" is different from copy paste which I'm going to share next!
REASON 3: SHARING vs. Copy Paste
Let's say I copy paste an article in Steemit and post it, it means I copy pasted it! I stole the article somewhere and post it! This is not sharing. Sharing is I tell you where the good article is from so that you can find it. I really don't understand how people actually can twist this point around. I felt dumb to even explain this into words. Owh wait, see how people argue by using this statement.
Perhaps the content that they have taken is a shared content or a content without copyright's infringements? We might not know.
I felt dumber here... To me it's like saying, "I can take people's money because they do not say that I can't or the money that they are holding doesn't belong to them." Anyway... next point!
NO MORE NEXT POINT
Again, I have no idea why I need to write on whether plagiarizing is a YES or NO. Either your school doesn't teach you that or common sense goes down to the drain.
P/S: Oh ya, if this post of mine is a "low quality content", it just means that it is a low quality content to you. I don't need the whole world to agree that this content is a good quality one. Don't take it personal.
I am now suspicious of all well written, edited content that I encounter on SteemIt. If the article looks like it came from a magazine; it probably was cut and pasted from a magazine.
The biggest problem that SteemIt has is with people plagiarizing images.
Citing the source of an image does not give people the right to use the image.
There are places that will let you use images if you site the source. Make sure you read their ToS.
Finally, people should remember that the legal community takes Intellectual Property seriously. As people are paid on SteemIt, I suspect that we will soon see lawyers going after the financial assets of copyright violators on this platform.
thanks for the input! appreciate the info you can share and will take note on that! Hope my contents did share some sense to the people here and not here.

It is so easy to check now thanks to Google, so it is crazy why people think they can get away with it. It is so embarrassing 😅
