Pass down the skills

Nowadays majority of the young generation doesn't even have the skills of woodworking, plumbing, sewing and more... πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ School doesn't teach such living skills anymoreπŸ”¨πŸ› οΈπŸ”©β›οΈβš’οΈπŸ—œοΈπŸ§° because it turned into full academic centric. Unlike older days before mid 90's, its part of the subject. As for me, I comes with many many skills in hand.

So for this house moving, I took this opportunity to get my son doing something. Assembling the ikea furnitures!! πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

I taught him the proper skill on hammering. πŸ”¨πŸ”¨ It may look simple but its not.... 😁😁 I remembered my grandma πŸ§“πŸ”¨ taught me to hammer 3 inches nail with 5-6 hits. At first my son was struggling with 20 nails.... slowly he got a hang with it.

He helped me assembled a wardrobe, a bookcase, and a glass cabinet. πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½ He was so happy with his achievement.

That's what people always says, "teach them while they still young".

Totally agree, "teach them while they are still young". This essential skills that are often overlooked in school comes very handy when they grow up. Kudos and good job to your kiddo. πŸ™‚

Yup. Let them do more of these instead of watching smartphone. ✌️✌️
