Road Trip of East Coast (Part 2): Another Gold Coast?

in #teammalaysia7 years ago

Hello Steemiters, how are you? It was a busy week for me and sometimes my work occupies me for quite a big portion of day until I do not have time to update my precious memory of road trip. A big apology for that!!

Alright! Without further ado, let's start the second part!

The beach hunting trip:
Our trip continued from Sg Lembing after a night stay. After the hike up to Bukit Panorama and food hunt at the market, we continued our journey to Teluk Cempedak to chill by the beach. IMG_3956.jpg
Teluk Cempedak white sandy beach is very captivating and combine with the blue sky, it is definitely remarkable. We parked our car at the carpark nearby the stalls and walked our way to the boardwalk. On the boardwalk, you need to be beware of the wild monkeys wandering around and they would snatch anything from you. The boardwalk eventually led us to a more tranquil beach. That's really another world in Teluk Cempedak.

Up next, we got ourselves on the road again and we went to a fishing village called Kampung Beserah. This village was famously using the buffalo to drag the fishes onshore but you won't see this scene today. Not too sure why, but you just won't see the special scene. It still lives inside all the villagers' memories. The village is also one of the setting for the local Chinese movie 'The Big Day - WooHoo!" (Just a direct translation). On that good day, we're all just mesmerized by the blue sky, left alone the scene. It's just amazing to be part of the scene!!!

After half an hour stay in Beserah, we were on the road again! This time, we went to a casuarina forest at Kampung Sg Ular. The casuarina trees were not there until the villagers planted them to prevent erosion of the beach. The trees grew big and they had become a great spot for the villagers to rest here. They also built a shelter just to rest after a tired day of fishing at the open sea. The breeze, swaying casuarinas...... unconsciously, we had fell asleep in this wonderland. We're just getting lazy and didn't want to make the move. But, we have to get to the next destination before the day got dark.

After Teluk Cempedak, Beserah, and Kg Sg Ular, we wrapped up our beach hunting in Pahang. Up next, Terengganu!!

After half an hour to 45 mins drive from Kg Sg Ular, we reached Kemasik beach. The beach, according to the locals, changes its shape twice a year in order to suit to monsoon season. During monsoon season, the river mouth will open up due to the rushing upstream water. The sand bar at the river mouth will collapse and you cannot walk pass the beach as the sand bar connects the two opposite banks. We spent almost an hour there to capture the special scene. It is very authentic as you won't see this that often or you won't actually locate this in another place in Malaysia! Perhaps fellow Steemiters, if you have your experience on this, please do share to us yea!

Left is the river, right is the sea. Best of both worlds!

The day is getting darker. We needed to find a place to set up our tent. We rushed northwards to Kuala Abang and we eventually found ourselves in a very secluded beach. However, the beach was not flat enough. Anyway, we just set up the tent as the curtain of the day pulled down. After a full day trip, it's worth while to sit down and relax. Look at the moon!!!!

We spent some time chit chat and finally went to sleep after realized that you can't take any starry sky pictures with the bright full moon on top of your head! Alright, let's call it a day and we would continue the trip the next morning!

Stay tuned for more, fellow Steemiters!!! I cannot share enough of my road trip experience in East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Should there be an opportunity, I encourage you to do a road trip, not only for the beautiful sceneries, but also the authentic East Coast food hunting!!

To be continued.....
