This cutting (i took pic 1and 2 before transplanting ) was smuggled from Kerala to Sabah Malaysia by my Keralan best friend Shamoj long ago.
Two months before that Anthony And I smuggled few cuttings from Kerala too but they didn’t survive. Perhaps because of the long journey or we were against nature. Many friends thought the idea of growing grapes here are ridiculous. We were devastated, our dream of growing grapes in the tropical kota kinabalu was shattered.
A year after Shamoj delivered it,
the cutting grown into a long vine creeping on the fence. We nurture it with a lot of tender loving care and true enough, it started to bear fruits.
I wonder what species are these red and white grapes?
Are you saying that you planted this in Sabah soil? What climate? Kundasang climate?
I'm actually really excited to see this possible in Sabah. Apart from bananase, grapes are my absolute favourite. I look forward to your future posts on this.
I wish grapes can grow in my garden. Too bad fail most of the time. Must be due to the weather.
