LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT THING!!! (Oh gosh, I sound like the Crocodile Hunter, he's a legend by the way)
Anyway, I'm currently in Teluk Intan, Perak and I discovered this place last week but only had the chance to visit it 3 times until today because it only opens from 11 am till around 3-ish pm (Lunch-hour Restaurant).
I can only go there on a weekends because my schedule at the Hospital is very tight, I finished around 6 something everyday and later if I'm on on-call duty, which is twice a week.
The name of the restaurant is Restoran Udang Galah Teluk Intan (Lobster Restaurant of the Gulf of Intan). This place is actually quite famous around here; You can see a lot of framed newspaper cutting featuring the restaurant on their walls as well as being featured several times on local food channels. Few celebrities had had a taste and got their pictures immortalised on the wall as well. They even have a trophy on the counter awarded by the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism for being one of the most reasonably-priced restaurant.
A plate of rice, vegetables and one Catfish only cost RM 3! (USD 0.8) - That's cheap for Malaysian standard and for Americans, that's not even a dollar!
A bowl of 3 gargantuan prawns for RM 55 (USD 14)
A plate of 10 cooked semi-spicy prawns for RM 26 (USD 6.6)
They have a wide array of all sort of river fishes cooked in various way for you to pick and taste. Their menu aren't just limited to Seafood however, they have myriads of other selections with chicken cooked in all sort of different styles. If you had to ask me which style is the best, definitely it's the Perchik Chicken. This is place is always swarming with people but you can still manage to find places to sit.
The most famous nearby attraction here is the local pride, Malaysia's own historical, the leaning tower of Teluk Intan!
Did I enjoy it? Hell yeah!
Was it cheap? Definitely (For Malaysian standard)
My review? 9.1/10
