Welcome back to my update #7! I know it has been a while since my last update #6 and we have been busy with our day job and on top of it we need to continue to deal with our renovation contractors. Today I finally have the time to sit down and write this update!

Since our new government going to reduce GST from 6% to 0% in June 2018, we actually plan to buy lots of electronic and furnitures for our home. However, we planned to visit this expo in Bukit Jalil stadium before they annouce about the GST. But we keep telling ourselves that we need to ensure the things we going to buy later should be GST 0%.

NO GST!! Awesome!

When we were inside the expo, we did notice there are lots of booth putting "We Absorb GST" or "No GST" sign around their booth which we, of course, were very exciting about it since they absorb GST and we already have 6% discount and not to mention in expo usually they have further discount to attrave customers!

Our main items to scout in the expo would be our aircon, outdoor filter, washing machine, fridge, and ceiling fan. We already did some homework before came and we already know what model or brand we wanted for our stuffs.

First Stop!

We visited 2-3 outdoor water filter companies and each of them took us about 30 minutes to brief us and told us their pros and compare competitors products. There were still 1-2 outdoor water filter but we didn't wanted to listen anymore as I can too become outdoor water filter "expert" on that day you know what I mean. Almost 80% of the outdoor water filter was having the same functionality and it really depends on our preferably on brand, type of membrane, and budget.

After few rounds of listening we finally go with Nesh Super High model which is the basic model among all the other Nesh models they offered. Being a salesperson of course they will try to upsell you with indoor water filter as well. To be honest, their indoor water filter looks pretty cool and good as well, but due to budget constraints and most of the features are like nice to have. We disappointed that sales person but we did go for the outdoor water filter.

After done with all deposit and receipt we continue to scout our next item in the checklist - aircon. I think we only walk about 10-20 steps and

Hello Daikin! I'm Coming!

Tifa: Look! Daikin just in front!
Me: wow, so near. Let's go! lol

Even though Daikin booth was pretty small compared to other booth but it was very pack! They only have 3 salesman and all of them were busy serving potential customers! We waited about 5 minutes and Tifa suggests to come back later on. But I told her to wait for a moment as I saw one of the salesman was going to give out his name card and going to staple on the paper. Usually this sign told me that they were almost done with the deal. In less than 10 second, I guess correctly and they really ready to move out from the booth. The salesman actually notice us and the first thing he told me was

Salesman A: Yes, how can I help you?
Me: Do you want to have a drink? You seems talk a lot. just a joke to him and ice break

After that lame joke we told him how many units and HPs that we need for our house, he then quickly grab his paper and pen wrote down our requirement. He then explain to us features about those series since they have 3 difference series which I got idea the difference other than price! He then told us now they have free gift promotion and for each unit of aircon we bought we entitle to one gift and there were total of 3 different free gift. Since we are getting few units might as well each free gift we took one and the rest we randomly choose what we want. The best part was no GST from them! woohoo!

Panasonic Where Are You??

We actually wanted to buy Panasonic washing machine and fridge. However, we notice Panasonic wasn't in the expo. They have Sharp, Samsung, Electrolux, and other China brands. We thought we could kill these items as well in the expo so that we no need to keep visit home expo in following weeks. It actually quite tiring to be honest. Our weekend date become home expo visiting! But anyhow, we will still visiting more expo to clear our checklist.

Bye Home Expo!

We spent about 2-3 hours in the expo and we basically did pretty well on that day. We are done with outdoor water, air con, and outdoor stainless steel cloth rack. The rack usually cost about 330 ish bucks but in the expo it only costs 250 bucks, which I think is pretty good deal! We immediately decided to buy it when we know the price! We left washing machine, fridge, and ceiling fan in the checklist! Hopefully we able to leverage Raya sales + no GST in next few weeks!

Oh Ya!

Oh ya, in next post I will update our house renovation. There are few updates and we did visit our home sweet home before visit expo and take some photos as well. Will post it maybe next few days!

Spoiler!
