Silhouettes and Sunrise
This morning, I slept in for me at about 5:30, but that was still early enough for me to head to the beach to catch the sunrise, I headed to a spot at the end of Walnut Beach and Wildemere Beaches, I am not 100% sure which beach this spot is, to be honest, but I guess that is not important.

This is the first shot I took this morning, I went to this spot to get some early morning shots around these old piles of an old pier or jetty.
The first colors of sunrise were just making an appearance as I got there and as you can see we got some nice colors this morning.
I did mess up with this shot, I had ISO set to Auto for this first shot and of course, my camera wasn't to know I was set up with my tripod and with the low light it cranked up the ISO to 8000, but even with that I still like this shot.

And here is the second shot I took this morning looking over the end of the damaged pier.
And I then spent about 45 minutes enjoying the beach and sunrise, for me that's the best way to start the day, and of course took more photos, but I only had time to edit a couple for this evenings post.

@zen-art Thnaks so kind of your to say
Truly a mesmerizing scene and what a beautiful way to start your day, Jay! The structures in second photo remind me of crosses. Hope you had a great weekend!
@ninahaskin Thanks it sure was a greta start to the day :)
Yes the look of crosses inthe second photo is why I went for a vertical shot

Want to have your post on the map too?
That first shot is amazing. I love how the jagged pier looks like fingers reaching up for help out of the mire!
@papacrusher Thanks considering I messed up the settings I am glad how that first one came out some of the shots I took later when more colors come out should be even better i ope, but then you never know
I see the hand now bad I hadn't seen that till you mentioned it
Great colors. Great start to your day. We get up early too. Hard to sleep in even when we have the chance. Early walks are the best. We heard coyotes still out this morning.
@steven-patrick I thin its the best time of the day, I have heard people reporting seeing coyotes here but I have never seen or heard one
Oh dear, you are an early bird! But then with these kinds of beautiful sunrises I would be too! Really beautiful @tattoodjay! Worth getting up early :)
@birdsinparadise Yeah I have been an early bird since I was a teen, most days I wake about 4:15 :) its just a habit I doubt I will ever break
You did it!! These are so beautiful, and no, it doesn't matter in the slightest what beach it's at :)
Now for something different ... 5:30 am is sleeping in for you??? :)
@lynncoyle1 Indeed a did and got some nice colors this morning :)
Ohh yes thats a sleep in for me I normally wake at 4:15 :)
Great color and composition. I wish my old Canon could handle ISO 8,000 that well...
Thnaks I am still shocked how well this camera handles high ISOs
Those are beautiful, JJ.... Caught my eye in the post promotion room in the qurator discord. I think I like your 'messed' up shot a little more... lol - maybe because it's in landscape which allows more of the sky's colours to be appreciated... :) Have a great week ahead, my friend! :)
@ackhoo Yes I prefer the messed up one myself to be honest and I do most landscape orientation, but occasional do a vertical just to be different
I guess it depends on the subject and what's suitable for that scene... it could be verticals but I find the thumbnails don't come out so well for vertical shots...
@ackhoo Yes I agree I seldom used to take verticals but for the local city magazine they sometimes want verticals for the cover so I shoot the occassionaly vertical these days
I just love the sunrise over the ocean, we live along the east coast and always wake early when we stay right by the beach for short getaways. Your photos are gorgeous, love the colours!
@lizelle Thanks Being by the beach for sunrise is always a greta start of the day for me
Great color in these photos. Very nice, as always!
@steemengines Thanks Kindl y

@adambarratt Thanks and yes it is a greta way to start the day
Beautiful shot bro!
@flachito88 Thanks :)
You always manage to get the perfect colors. Loved this one, can imagine that place at sunset, must be a party of colors!
@vanessapineda7 Sunset is in the opposite direction and over land but still can be special some days I normally go to another beach for sunset
I didn't think about the sun positio LOL that was a silly moment.
Getting up that early certainly paid off! Great composition :)
@daan Ohh yeah it was a lovely start to the day :)
howdy this fine Monday JJ! I can't think of a better way to start the day and those photos convey the beauty, peace and tranquility of the location, amazing!
@janton Thanks it was truly a beautiful morning to be at the beach I must say
well sir...I mean JJ ...the colors were absolutely stunning! I mean if that's what it's like out there on the beach then even I might get up at 4:30 to be able to see it! Is anyone around at that time of morning? and it's still pretty much dark, I assume it's a safe area?
I don't know the area at all.
I love the silhouettes of the pilings against the beautiful colors of the sky. Wonderful shots!
@dabeckster Thanks, I took a bunch of shots from all angles now just need to find the time to edit them LOL
What a treat to wake up to! Thanks for sharing (:
