We met by accident
On a warm, windy morning.
You just came to help
It’s something you always do.
We became good friends
And hung out many times.
You drove me around
Showed me places I should know.
I met your family
You met mine.
We even worked together
Although in different sections.
After three years
I had to leave.
You were staying
But I’ll see you again someday.
--
We would meet again
On a warm, windy afternoon.
This time by design
And our friendship blossomed.
For many years
We were best of friends.
You helped me with your wisdom.
I helped you keep your sanity.
You showed me around your place.
I showed you around mine.
You met my extended family.
I went to visit yours.
Again, after three years.
I had to leave.
You were remaining.
But I’ll see you again someday.

Will we meet again
On a warm, windy evening?
So we can talk about old times
And dream about the new.
Just sit on a bench in a park
Talking for hours on end.
Of course if that does happen
It will be in heaven.
Because after I left
You got sick and died.
I felt bad I was not there
To talk one last time.
As fate would have it.
This time you had to go
And I was remaining.
But I’ll see you again someday.
wish I could write this way.
You can! Just keep on writing and eventually it will be easier :)

Wow, this is incredibly beautiful and it really resonated with me. I have a small group of friends who mean the world to me, and the thought of losing any one of them is almost too much to bear.
Until I moved to the Philippines, my list of friends was very small. His death hit me very hard. Moving on though I've gotten more friends. None as good as he was, but I doubt that will ever happen.
