Establishing parent - teacher bond is essential in school settings. The association of parents and teachers also improves students performance.
Yesterday July 27, 2017 our school conducted the very first Parent - Teacher Relationship for the school year 2017 - 2018.
All parents are encourage to attend the assembly, during the session the teacher discuss the following agenda.
- Election of Parent - Teacher Association (P.T.A.)Officers
- President , Vice - President , Secretary , Treasurer and Auditor - Home Room Needs
- Electric fan, cleaning materials , first aid kit etc. - Student matters
- Attendance, proper haircut for boys, and students' credentials.
Well, during the early session we conduct a "meet and greet" , it's the time when each parent will introduce themselves. With these we are now able to get to know one another.
After the getting to know our dear parents, we conduct our Election for PTA officers.
During the election we did something unusual, since almost all parents doesn't know each other that much, our election of officers now became a raffle draw like. ahahaha. This is actually the best part of our session. Since the officers will be chosen by "The Hand", so who ever I picked will be the officer in charge.
Then later, we move to one of the serious topic of our discussion. The "home room needs" we all know that public schools only have class room, black board and chairs. We ask the parents if they can help us in providing the basic needs our students.
First would be the electric fan, actually we asked for the defective electric fan. Since we have a students specialized in Electronics, one of their activities is to fix a defective e-fan so this task will be an easy-peasy for them, so this "junk like" to them will be a "treasure for us".
Another is the cleaning materials, the school doesn't provide individual cleaning tool for every classroom so we will also ask the favor of the parents.
Then next will be the first aid kit, even we had our school clinic having our own first aid kit inside our class home will be great.
We also discuss about the credentials needed by our students since all of them are graduating students. After the meeting the parents guarantee that they will support the School and P.T.A. projects. This is indeed my first time to have PTA meeting, since this is also my first time to be a class adviser, looking forward to more lively and joyful session with our dear parents.
