RE: Eli – a holy man who lost his way

in #teamsouthafrica6 years ago (edited)

Amen. God bless you for this message. This story is sad. Eli who was the high priest then should have at least been able to discipline his children. Maybe he was too busy with the ministerial work that he did not consider the welfare of the spiritual life of his sons. We don't also see any attempt to displine them despite their deadly sins. We shouldn't be too busy with our Christian lives than to raise our children in a godly way. For the church starts from the family. Talking about the qualifications for overseers, Paul said

He must be one who manages his own household well, keeping his children under control with all dignity (1 Timothy 3:4, null)

profound words, when our children choose different paths to what they have been raised in, a great deal of sorrow happens. Yet that is the key time to show them our love.

True.
