@fred703 Hello again fellow South African :) I loved this post... it took me back quite a few years - when my mom used to run the South African Nurserymens Association... for years on end they had a pair of owls that would come and nest on a plant trough which was suspended on the outside of one of the windows. It was always a VERY exciting time when they arrived and then getting to watch the little babies develop.
It seemed such an unlikely place for the to setup house, yet they did it year after year. Sadly though my mom left that position so do not know if they are still returning on an annual basis...
But yes, it is truly amazing how they adapt.
I also hope to be able to continue the owl saga every year
I am sure :) It is a wonderful thing to experience and witness.
