RE: Cutting back on my posts for deepdives.

in #teamukraine2 years ago

Hi mate, honestly I'm sorry that today's post is short because you are one of the two authors I follow on hive. Even though my hive power is not very high, I'm upvoting your posts because you are sharing articles with effort. Anyway, I want to get straight to the point.

Deepdives is the only group on hive that can share political posts. Informationwars accepts political articles. but its activity is much lower than deepdives and frankly both are run by almost common people. Except for these two groups, no group on hive does not take kindly to political and war posts. None of the ocd curangel blocktrades and similar hive whales curate political articles. There are only @resonator @v4vapid @canadian-coconut @btu and @zuerich who curate political articles (that I know of). Apart from these, as writers of political articles, we are completely deprived of curation.

I know this because this time last year I was publishing almost an article a day and yes unfortunately hive is a place that is not worth your time in terms of income if you are only sharing your posts here. Because, as I mentioned above, there is hardly any curator. Those that do also have to upvote low amounts to give equal amounts of rewards to existing authors. I know people in other communities who earn more than writers of political articles by simply describing what they did that day in a few sentences and snapping a photo of the food they ate. There are writers who get tens of times more upvotes than the article I wrote by spending days by sharing the photo of the bigmac menu he ate as a daily blog. This is really sad and there is nothing I can do other than point it out here.

I know about the incident between you and @v4vapid over the last week and I realize that you both have your points of view. @v4vapid doesn't want people to see hive as an atm and reduces the amount of upvotes to distribute equal rewards to everyone, while naturally you spend hours looking for the right for your articles. Both are pretty understandable.

You and @cronos0 are the reasons why I started hive. @Cronos0 is a close friend of mine and at one point we quit hive just because these upvote amounts didn't satisfy us. Cronos currently writes articles for a news site because the amount he earns from hive is really not enough to even pay his internet bill. I almost quit hive, from time to time I share my articles on hive by combining my thoughts from youtube videos, but I am aware that this work does not bring me any tangible financial income, so I direct all my earnings to @cronos0.

When I look at your statistics, of course, I see that you have an average income, even if I think that it is not enough when compared to the time you spend. I think you shouldn't quit deepdives just because of what happened. Because if these communities become isolated, quality content will decrease in the future, and large hive whales such as curangel ocd curie are less likely to support these communities. And the way is made for fraudsters who all they do is pull out the food they eat and get $100 upvotes a day.

Even if you are going to stop writing on deep dives, you should at least share your articles on informationwar, its closest alternative, because when I started hive, one of the things that prompted me to write was the activity I saw from these two communities and the presence of people reading and commenting on these articles. If we argue that Hive is an uncensored structure, we should not leave this platform only to people who share their daily lives. Political news that is severely censored in today's local media are excellent content to share on hive but they do not get the value they deserve. We may be among the first generation of writers struggling to demonstrate this value.
