I NEED HELP!

in #teardrops7 years ago

I don't see myself as a strong person at least not most times. Yes I may appear tough and thick skinned at first approach.

I even go as far as registering the fear of me in the hearts of people that do not know me. I remember sometimes ago, a guy told "You always look like you would slap me if I stepped on your toes or maybe said rubbish to you". Yes ofcourse I felt so proud of me, atleast I don't look like I would take rubbish or trash.

Now what I try to portray is some sort of defence strategy against dealing with issues straight up. In my bid to act like it was under control, I lose control of it and hence it goes from cracked to broken. I am not outrightly undermining my strength because I have gone through a lot of things that would say otherwise but what I mean is sometimes it wasn't needed.

Self- sufficiency, self- confidence, self- reliance or whatever we could put it as is just an accident waiting to happen. I realised there is no problem in asking for help or even letting your guards down a little so that someone can actually take care of you.

Then a wise man told me

The Fastest is not the smartest but different combination of traits is an ingredient to success.

At first, I didn't understand this statement as it seems bogous when I first heard it but with time I realised it was one of the wisest word I have heard in my short stay on earth.

You walking alone doesn't make you go far, independence doesn't make you a champion or even a celebrity. The fact that you are accountable to yourself doesn't make life easy for you.

Seeking help is no weakness. Contrary to popular belief, seeking help is strength. Acceptance is power and Vulnerability is bravery.

Being ahead of your game doesn't make you better than the people behind. What makes you better is the combination of different people with different things to offer to make a goal achievable.

There is nothing bad in lone victory but as it implies, it is lonely.
Team winnings are much more worthy.

Remember, the water comes first doesn't mean it is all you need to make the rice. You need the rice too.

We all need each other. The importance of teamwork cannot be overemphasized. There is so much we can accomplish when we have the right people around us.
