The mermaid legend in English called mermaid carries the name from Old English where it means sea, and maid means virgin.
In old English, mermaids are known on behalf of meremif. They are usually described as one woman with long straight hair and is not uncommonly equated with the sirens of Greek mythology, femme fatale whose voice is known to attract the hearts of the vessel sailors who could soon be drowned due to crashing into the rock. This mermaid legend also gives many new names to mammals namely Sirenia.
Sirenia is generally filled by mammals that used to live in rivers, estuaries, puddles, and similar places. beyond that, there is also a disease called Sirenomelia which has another name of mermaid syndrome, there is a rare congenital defect in which a child is born with a small genitalia and legs joined together. how according to the understanding of all friends is different from my perspective
