"...you have to do it yourself."
In today's tech world, it seems as if it's really prohibitive if you just try and learn one thing or area of expertise and not continue to broaden your skillsets.
In today's example, I give you my own example... Animation.
I can do almost anything with sound, being a sound engineer and music producer. But being able to add video to that mix is an entirely other skillset.
With video you can take a boring beat or melody and turn it into something far less boring.
I have often wished I could animate so I could bring some of my less popular songs to market with something to keep the mind's eye focused, but paying someone to do a simple animation is simply .....not cost effective seeing as how I don't charge for my music.
So low and behold, I started googling up who makes the best animation software and discovered I'm already paying for one that is in the top 5. My wife keeps a subscription to Adobe CC and so I shall try my hand at learning Adobe Animate.
Learning a new specialized software at my age is getting to be a challenge all by itself as my ability to absorb info isn't anything like when I was a kid. But with a short video and alot of determination, I was already able to learn how to use the new camera tool and tween between keyframes!!!! I must say I feel like a pro already.
