In order to open the eyes for what computer could do, Douglas Engelbart lead a research group in the end of the 60'ies which would analyse the technology and come up with intelligent ways how to handle Data.
In this effort, the Augmented Research Center created a demonstration of the tools they invented in order to show people what is possible.
It amazes me how far thinking this research group has been in 1968 when the demonstration was recorded. They literally invent technologies others start to understood decades later and crafted the way for modern personal computing: windows, hypertext, graphics, efficient navigation and command input, video conferencing, the computer mouse, word processing, dynamic file linking, revision control, and a collaborative real-time editor (collaborative work)...
