The video games that changed the world

in #technology7 years ago

Video games (including video games, consoles and other vegetables) are not something that has always been. They are considered relatively new in the field and hobbies (and entertainment?) And have barely existed in the last 50 years. Over the years, a lot of games went out, some good and some less, some were very successful and very invested and beautiful, but few of them changed the world or at least the world of gaming.

Spacewar!
Year of departure: 1962

This is not the first game ever created (for an article on the history of the consoles), but it was the beginning of all the games we know today. It was original and not based on any physical game that was known until then. It inspired the imagination and paved the way for the beginning of the important way in the field of creativity in video games. The game itself does not impress anyone, it's only about two spaceships that have to fight against a space. "Who will hear?"

Pong

Year of departure: 1972

The game Pong is a very simple game, it creates for a dedicated game console, where you need to control the block block that blocks a ball from passing, like ping pong. The uniqueness of this game is that the game had sound effects that were not until that time and the investment in the user experience and control of the game was definitely good.

Invaders from space

Year of departure-1978

An iconic game that can not be considered a milestone in the field of video games. The game experience, the sounds, the little alienated aliens and all the other things around that first created a generation of addicted gamers. Apparently this is the game that has turned the video games field from a cute hobby into something that people spend a considerable part of their day. The game also became a role model for future games

Angry Birds

Release year:2009

So we talked about computer games and consoles games, but as you progress in the timeline we approach the era of smartphones. You can not help but mention the game about the angry birds that conquered many. Angry Birds was the first smartphone game that made us addicted to gaming on the phone, it introduced an amazing user experience, set challenges and invested in things like graphics, sounds and physics. After the game came out it was a huge success and many, of all ages, began to become addicted. In a short time, many games were launched that tried to "copy" or to be based on the game in order to create successful versions of similar games, and some did so with partial success, but no one matched the original.

Minecraft

Release year:2011

This game is not for everyone, but for those who have been captivated by it, it is the perfect game. It is suitable for children and adults and many people around the world play it every day. The funny part of the whole story? The game has no purpose. The game began as a game of amateur artists who just designed something entertaining to explore, create, and build things, but they really did not know that it would become one of the greatest successes of the decade.

Pokemon Go

Year of departure:2016

So let's talk about Pokemon for a moment. We usually posted videos from the game, but the truth is that this game is different from everyone else and therefore we can not find the most suitable video. The reason is that this game makes us leave the house to play it. If in the '90s we were all playing outside, building wooden houses and playing catch, and then years later we locked ourselves in the house to sit in front of the computer, this game changed all that. Children, teenagers and adults leave the house to look for Pokemon in the real world. Although it is not the first game that makes people leave the house to play it (there is Ingress from the company that created Pokemon Go), but it is the first to succeed so dizzily and within five days became the most successful mobile game in the United States of all time. Is this a game that changed gaming? Most likely yes, though perhaps too early to speak. But definitely possible.
