Lost a pet? Clone it!

in #technology7 years ago (edited)

I recently read an article about cloning pets. Apparently Barbara Streisand cloned her dog, not once but twice! Streisand had cells taken from the mouth and stomach of the deceased animal and used them to produce the same result from Dolly the Sheep. Forget about the ethical or moral concerns regarding cloning as that requires 2 or three hours of research and writing. What I did find interesting was that she told Variety that the dogs have different personalities. Perhaps the dog is genetically the same, but how can personality be different? Maybe we can clone bodies, but not soul's.

"I’m waiting for them to get older so I can see if they have her brown eyes and her seriousness," she said.

Begun, the clone war has.

Your comment makes me think that I hope this helps teach people what it is they actually loved.

I find it upsetting that people would even consider cloning a pet just so they can temporarily feel less grief.
